Editorial Policy
The
Journal of information & Knowledge Management publishes original works in various forms to cater to the diverse needs of its readership. Submitted work must not have been published before or submitted for review or consideration at other venues such as journals, books, and conferences. Submission of papers previously published in conference proceedings is only considered if the work is substantially expanded and improved. If any part of the submitted work was published before, the author must inform the editor in writing and clearly highlight these parts in the submitted manuscript. The following categories of submissions are considered:
- Research-oriented papers may describe completed research efforts with results, analyses and implications to practitioners, and should not exceed 50 pages in length.
- Practice-oriented papers may describe new industry practices, tools and methodologies, with emphases on practical issues, problems and solutions, and should not exceed 25 pages in length. Papers may also discuss the relevance of theory to practice and applications.
- Position and opinion papers will reflect new or current trends, thinking, perspectives and opinions in research and practice, and should not exceed 12 pages in length.
- Review papers should give a critical and analytical perspective of related books, publications, methodologies, practices, tools or systems, and should not exceed 6 pages in length.
All submissions should emphasize their relevance and implications to knowledge-based activities and knowledge work. Submissions, which address relevant issues, in the context of knowledge-intensive work, from multidisciplinary and cross-functional perspectives, are particularly welcome. All initial submissions should be double-spaced, with at least 1-inch margins, and adhered to the lengths specified above (including all headings, abstract, main body, tables, figures, diagrams and references), and submitted
online in Microsoft Word format. Hard copy submission is not required.
To enable a blind refereeing process, the main author is required to supply a cover page that includes the title of the paper, the names and affiliations of all authors, and up to 6 keywords. The Authors names and affiliations should not be included on the original manuscript.
The Reviewing Process
Submitted papers will be sent out to referees who are familiar with the work. The reviewing process is important in ensuring good contributions and quality information. Authors will be notified of the referee's decisions and may need to modify their paper according to the referee's comments.

The final version of the accepted papers should be submitted in Microsoft Word format labelled with author name(s); title of article; journal title; file name.
