A Study of the Dynamic Behaviour of a Web Site
Interactive Web services make use of highly dynamic contents. To design efficient mechanisms for the replication and distribution of these contents and improve the QoS perceived by the users, it is important to understand how often and to what extent contents change. This chapter addresses these issues by studying the dynamic behaviour of the contents of a popular news Web site. We analysed the contents of the news in terms of various metrics to assess the similarity of their successive versions. Moreover, we identified groups of news characterised by similar behaviour.
