Decoding the nature of the pentaquark states from LHCb

    Abstract:

The updated analysis of LHCb of the Λ0bJ/ψpK process with an order of magnitude larger data sample led to three narrow pentaquark states, i.e. Pc(4312), Pc(4440) and Pc(4457). We analyze the measured J/ψp invariant mass distribution by solving the Lippmann-Schwinger equation with both the dynamical Σ(*)ˉD(*) and J/ψp channels under the assumption that the crossed-channel effects provide a smooth incoherent background. We find that the data can be well described in the hadronic molecular picture, which predicts seven Σ(*)ˉD(*) molecular states. In particular, we show that there is evidence in the data for an additional narrow Σ*cˉD bound state, which is different from the broad one reported by LHCb in 2015.
