    Abstract:

The composition and structure of transition or "soft" metal binding sites and their conservation and flexibility are described. Algorithms for soft metal-binding-site prediction from sequences, holo structures and apo structures are presented, with emphasis on the latter. The chapter ends with a discussion on the importance of modeling for future predictive algorithms.
