    Abstract:

    I joined the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS) on November 3, 2014 as Executive Deputy Chairman. I succeeded Dean Barry Desker as the Chief Executive of RSIS. I had heard of RSIS often, as it frequently came up in my conversations at home and abroad with Singapore officials and foreign diplomats. I met several graduates, researchers, and teaching staff from the School over the years and was impressed with their focus on security issues, strategic concerns, and policy relevance.
