Abstract:
Let A be an n × n matrix over ℂ. The eigenvalue equation is given by
Ax = λxAx=λx
with x ≠ 0. Here λ is called the eigenvalue and x is called the corresponding eigenvector. The eigenvalues are determined by det(A − λΙn) = 0.
