The cross section for scattering of mesons by nucleons remains invariant under the phase substitution indicated by Minami.1 The two sets of phase shifts, obtained from one another through this substitution, can only be distinguished either by means of polarization experiments,2–3 or by analyzing the energy dependence of the cross section at low energies.
