    The convenor of the seminar, J. Mesot (Argonne National Laboratory, USA) gave first an introduction to the Angle Resolved Photoemission Spectroscopy (ARPES) technique applied to the high-temperature superconductors (HTSC). Since the photoemission intensity is directly proportional to the spectral function, which is itself related to the self-energy function, relevant information about the electronic structure of the HTSC materials can be obtained…
