      Abstract:

      In addition to the semiclassical methods that we studied in the previous chapter, there is the well known technique of the Bohr and Sommerfeld which can be applied to solve the problems of one-dimensional quantum tunneling. In this chapter we first discuss the application of this method to investigate the escape of a particle trapped behind a barrier and the approximate determination of the decay width Γ [1]–[4].
