CHAPTER 12: THE PERIODIC TABLE
In previous chapters, we have seen how atoms participate in reactions, rearranging themselves to form new compounds. We studied these reactions from various angles. Energetically (Chapter 5 on Energy Change and Fuels) and kinetically (Chapter 6 on Rate of Chemical Reactions), we tried to account for the spontaneity of such reactions in terms of structure and bonding.
