Abstract:

I heard and even used this self-deprecating epithet many times during my tenure in the “Lion City” from 2007–2009 as the Turkish Ambassador. “The Little Red Dot” connotes the legend of Singapore, whose reputation precedes itself and extends far beyond the 700-square kilometre island on the map. Yet, in reality, beneath the legend, you can see a vibrant harmony, creativity and dynamism.
