Abstract
Asymptotic estimates for growth functions of Belyaev–Sesekin–Trofimov's and Okniński's semigroups are obtained. In particular, a question of R. Grigorchuk about the existence of matrix semigroups with growth rate between polynomial and 
, is positively answered.
