THE CANONICAL GENUS OF WHITEHEAD DOUBLES OF A FAMILY TORUS KNOTS

In this paper, we show that g_c(K_{m, n}) - g(K_{m, n}) = 2mn for m, n ∈ N, where K_{m, n} is the connected sum of m copies of any Whitehead double of the (2n + 1, 2) torus knot.
