Abstract

We provide an update to S. di Serego Alighieri, Int. J. Mod. Phys. D 24 (2015) 1530016, arXiv:1501.06460 [astro-ph.CO], focusing on recent developments regarding constraints on Cosmic Polarization Rotation (CPR), also known as Cosmic Birefringence (CB), derived from Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) polarization data.

Note that in the literature, the term “Cosmic Birefringence” is commonly used to refer to this phenomenon.

This paper is to be published also in the book “One Hundred and Ten Years of General Relativity: From Genesis and Empirical Foundations to Gravitational Waves, Cosmology and Quantum Gravity,” edited by Wei-Tou Ni (World Scientific, Singapore, 2025).
