The Mo-, W-incorporated Sm0.5Sr0.5CoO3δ ceramics were prepared by the tape casting and high temperature sintering method. The effects of Mo and W concentration on the structure and optical properties of Sm0.5Sr0.5CoO3δ were investigated in detail. It was found that the Mo-, W-incorporated Sm0.5Sr0.5CoO3δ exhibited extraordinary emittance property in the 3–5μm and 8–13μm (especially in the 11–13μm) wavelength ranges. The results suggest that the novel infrared emittance property of Mo- and W-incorporated Sm0.5Sr0.5CoO3δ could find potential applications in solar thermal or radiative cooling systems.
