    Abstract:

    The construction of “East Asian Community” requires making progress in politics, economy, culture and many other aspects simultaneously. In other words, it is made up of the following three indispensable parts: building cooperation institution and system in politics, promoting liberalization in economy, encouraging mutual identity and reliance in culture. However, the status quo indicates that although economic integration has yielded good results and mechanisms like “10 + 3” and East Asia Summit have been set up politically, cultural identity and political reliance are still confronted with great challenges.
