    Abstract:

Arturo Sangalli conjectured in his romance Pythagoras’ Revenge that the collection of all mathematical objects — the “space of mathematics” — has a random structure. We call that conjecture “the Chaitin–Thorp theorem”, as it originates in a result by Chaitin and is proved in the romance by fictional mathematician Norton Thorp. We prove in this chapter a version of the Chaitin–Throp theorem.
