    Abstract:

    This chapter discusses the key concepts in Membrane Computing, with some examples illustrating their usage, the main theoretical developments, by pointing at some of the most significant results, and a set of applications in various areas, as well as adequate tools utilized in the simulation, anlysis and verification of membrane systems.
