Having been brought up in a resolutely matriarchal family, Ms Grace Fu's view of a woman's role in society has very much been influenced by the role models in her life. Her grandmother, Mdm Liew Yuen Sien, was the longest-serving principal of Nanyang Girls' High School, and her mother worked full-time as a nurse at the then Kandang Kerbau Hospital (now known as KK Women's and Children's Hospital).
