Abstract:

The reactivity of a number of mono- and polycyclic hydrocarbons in the selective ring-opening reaction as an approach in increasing the cetane number of diesel fuel is compared. Possible pathways of reactions in the presence of Pt, Rh, Ir and Ru catalysts deposited on different carriers are considered.
