Chapter 10: Regular Functions of a Bounded Non-selfadjoint Operator
In this chapter we establish the norm estimates for functions of a bounded operator A in a Hilbert space ℋ, assuming that the functions are regular on the convex hull of the spectrum of A. Besides, it is assumed that either A–A* is a Hilbert-Schmidt operator, or AA*–I is a nuclear one. Applications of the obtained estimates to the Sylvester equation are also discussed. In addition, we investigate the rotations of invariant subspaces of operators with compact Hermitian components.
