13: Addendum
Since the publication of this book in 2003 experiment has gone forward, with as most important result the discovery in 2012 at CERN of the Higgs boson. In this addendum we will briefly discuss the actual discovery and some implications. The requirement of the existence of at least one Higgs particle may be seen as a prediction following the requirement of renormalizability. That is not the first time that this happens. Also the existence of a neutral vector boson may be understood that way.
