    Abstract:

Existence and uniqueness of solutions of a boundary value problem (BVP) with general boundary data for the Carleman model of the Boltzmann equation are investigated. Necessary and sufficient conditions for existence of the solutions, and results of a numerical study of a trend to equilibrium of the underlining initial boundary value problem (IBVP) are discussed. Explicit examples of the nonunique positive solutions are given.
