Study on Algae Inhibition Experiments by Multi-Parameter Tunable High Voltage Pulser
In this paper, we cultivated microcystis aeruginosa to do PEF experiments. The layout of experiments was orthogonal design including four parameters, namely peak value, duration and frequency of rectangular pulse and also treatment period. After treatment, we measured the algae cell density every 24 hours till the end of 6 days' solution cultivation. Experimental data proved the feasibility of PEF's effect on the micro-algae. In addition, peak value of pulse was the major impact parameter of PEF algae sterilization, pulse duration ranked No. 2. However, treatment period and frequency played tiny influences. Finally, we did confirmatory experiments with the parameter deduced from orthogonal layout. It was also proved that the optimum electric parameter combination could be deduced for algae inactivation from experimental data as few as possible.
