    FORMATION OF THE DEEPLY-BOUND Kpp STATE IN THE 3He(IN-FLIGHT K, n) SPECTRUM

    The formation of a deeply-bound Kpp state by the 3He(in-flight K, n) reaction is investigated theoretically in a distorted-wave impulse approximation using the Green's function method. The expected inclusive and semi-exclusive spectra at pK = 1.0 GeV/c and θn = 0° are calculated for the forthcoming J-PARC E15 experiment. We discuss these spectra with some K-“pp” optical potentials, taking into account the energy-dependence of the imaginary part of the potentials by a phase space suppression factor.

    Charge exchange reactions on medium and heavy mass targets at intermediate energies

    The nuclear isotopic structure can be understood easily via the intermediate-energy charge exchange reactions of (p, n) and (3He, t) type. In the current contribution, we present some results for charge exchange reactions induced by 3He on targets lying in mass region 18A208 within the theoretical framework of plane wave impulse approximation (PWIA) and distorted wave impulse approximation (DWIA). Here, the recoil effects in PWIA have also been considered. Particularly, the angular distributions and the unit cross-sections have been calculated and compared with the available data. Further, the importance of inclusion of the exchange contribution in these reactions is also considered, which eventually enhance the matching with data.

    Quantitative analysis of (3He,t) charge exchange reactions at 140 MeV/u beam energy

    Composite particle, (3He,t), charge exchange reactions on targets 12C, 13C, 18O, 26Mg, 58Ni and 118,120Sn at 140 MeV/u beam energy have been analyzed by employing distorted wave impulse approximation (DWIA). Specifically, unit cross-section and angular distribution have been calculated using normal optical model potential (NOMP) and single folding optical model potential (SFOMP) for both relativistic and non-relativistic cases. The sensitivity of present results on exchange terms has also been examined and it is pertinent to report here that the inclusion of these effects reduces the cross-section in magnitude up to 60%, which in turn brings it closer to the data except for 12C.

    Λ-HYPERNUCLEAR PRODUCTION IN formula REACTIONS

    In the present contribution, we report on calculation of the Λ-hypernuclear production induced by the stopped kaon K-. We performed the calculation within the framework of the distorted wave impulse approximation and used chirally motivated transition amplitudes for the microscopic description of the elementary kaon-nucleon process. The sensitivity of the model to several effects was tested with a special attention paid to the impact caused by variations of the initial kaon and final state pion wave functions. The calculated production rates are reported for target nuclei from Lithium to Oxygen.
