Narrow Results

Presented here is the stepwise and one-pot synthesis of a dipyridazinamethyrin, 1. In either synthetic route, a proper metal cation template was found necessary. ¹H NMR and UV-Vis absorption studies suggest this macrocycle exhibits a non-aromatic nature. DFT calculations suggest that the optimized structure of this macrocycle is slightly ruffled rather than planar.
