We briefly summarize the interests in mesic atoms and mesic nuclei in the contemporary hadron-nucleus physics and give a short report on the recent research activities for several meson-nucleus systems.
Investigation of the dd→4Heη reaction has been a part of the experimental program at the ANKE facility of COSY-Jülich. It comprises measurements at four excess energies: 2.3 MeV, 7.7 MeV, 22 MeV, 42.7 MeV as well as an energy below threshold for background study. The results obtained so far as well as the employed experimental technique are presented.
We discuss the interests and difficulties of the studies of the meson-nucleus bound systems. As recent topics, we briefly explain the research activities of the deeply bound pionic atoms, the η′(958) mesic nuclei, and the ɸ mesic nuclei.
