By applying two transformations on the vacuum expectations of the Higgs fields, we show that instead of considering three nonvanishing complex fields, one can easily work with the real parts of two fields while CP conservation is assumed. Using this result, we next obtain the mass terms of CP-conserving Weinberg three-Higgs-doublet model (3HDM) which are essential in study of the spontaneous symmetry breaking and the Higgs mechanism.
Weinberg three-Higgs-doublet model attracts interest in many aspects including the study of CP-violation as well as calculating the muon transverse polarization and neutron electric dipole moment. In the present work, we calculate the mass terms of CP-violating Weinberg 3HDM at a charge-breaking vacuum using an elaboratre basis.
