ASIA-PACIFIC'S FIRST BIOTECH NEWS REPORT

KH Biotech Services, a subsidiary of World Scientific, will be launching the Asia-Pacific Biotech News ( APBN) in September 1997. This will be Asia-Pacific's first weekly report to give readers news about biotechnology in the region. The report's primary areas of interest are food, agriculture and pharmaceuticals/healthcare. It will be published in English and Chinese, and will be available in both print and electronic versions.

APBN aims to become the main source by which those in the industry keep track of the rapid development of biotechnology in Asia-Pacific. It will bring to readers many high quality and exciting articles on the main sectors of healthcare, pharmaceuticals, food and agriculture, with a particular focus on:

  • government policies and regulations, product developments, corporate deals and industry trends;
  • profiles of companies, research institutions and scientists; and
  • a calendar of upcoming events, seminars and conferences.

The Editor-in-Chief of APBN, Professor Nam-Hai Chua, is Andrew W. Mellon Professor and Head of the Laboratory of Plant Molecular Biology, Rockefeller University. He is also Chairman of both the Management Board and the Scientific Advisory Board at the Institute of Molecular Agrobiology, National University of Singapore. In 1988, Prof Chua was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society, UK.
