How Small Actions Lead Your Career to Big Successes
cover-12169

From selling street food to becoming a managing director at UBS investment bank, LinkedIn key opinion leader shares the small actions you can take to achieve big success in your career. After graduation, Eric Sim was rejected by an airline company for a cabin crew job. During the Asian financial crisis, he couldn't find a job for six months. He included these rejections and failures in his visual resume which went viral on LinkedIn with almost a million views.

One reason why Sim has attracted so many followers on LinkedIn is because he offers unique perspectives, and shares practical and actionable tips. "Every week, I received messages from professionals, followers and students telling me my advice have helped them advance their careers," said Sim, “It such a privilege to be in a position to make an impact. I hope, with this book, even more people can achieve big success."

One such example comes from London-based Anna Udartseva, a Growth Associate at AlphaSights who was formerly a consultant with Ernst and Young, "Chasing opportunities and sending countless follow-up emails didn't get me closer to my dream role, so I followed the advice in Small Actions. New opportunities started presenting themselves. I was also offered a promotion as my team looked at me in a different light. It's magical how the practical tips in this book helped me pivot my career within such a short time." she testified.

Arranged thematically into 66 bite-sized chapters, Small Actions: Leading Your Career to Big Success brings together a series of relatable stories and case studies. Readers will learn valuable career lessons, such as why it's important to be a "combo specialist", and how they can influence people and build their personal brand.

Frank Koo, Head of Asia Talent Solutions at LinkedIn said: "Sim masterfully weaves together a canvas of his observations about mindsets, skills, and behaviours that are important to every professional. Small Actions is a must read for those who want to make the most out of their life and career."

Whether you're just starting out in the workforce or a seasoned professional looking to get further ahead, let this book inspire you to take powerful small actions of your own.

Small Actions: Leading Your Career to Big Success retails for US$28/ £19.99 (paperback) and US$58 / £50 (hardcover) and is also available in electronic formats. To order or know more about the book, visit http://www.worldscientific.com/worldscibooks/10.1142/12169.
