The current experimental status of neutrino physics is reviewed. It contains the evidences for a non-vanishing neutrino rest mass from neutrino oscillation searches. In addition an outlook is given on determining the various mixing matrix elements and mass differences more precisely with new experiments. Of special interest is the value of the mixing angle θ₁₃ determining the possibility of detecting leptonic CP violation in the future. The prospect for absolute mass measurements using beta and double beta decay as well as cosmological observations is presented.

I discuss the new physics unveiled by neutrino oscillation experiments. It is fair to say that, while significant theoretical progress has been made, we are yet to construct a unique coherent picture that naturally explains non-zero, yet tiny, neutrino masses and the newly revealed pattern of lepton mixing. I discuss what the challenges are, and point to the fact that more experimental input is required. Finally, I draw attention to the fact that neutrinos may have only just begun to reshape fundamental physics, given the fact that we are still to explain the LSND anomaly and because the neutrino oscillation phenomenon is ultimately sensitive to very small new-physics effects.

Recent results on Heavy Flavor decays are reviewed. Many new results on rare decays, primarily from the B-Factory experiments BABAR and Belle are presented. Decays are classified according to their hadronic structure, and the theoretical issues surrounding the strong interaction effects are discussed. Special attention is given to more theoretically clean measurements.

The latest cosmological data point to a model of the universe that is self-consistent but deeply weird. It seems that most matter in our universe is non-baryonic and hidden from direct view. Meanwhile, a repulsive "dark energy" causes the expansion of the universe to proceed at an accelerating rate. Sources of current data include studies of the distribution of matter in the universe, the anisotropies of the cosmic microwave background radiation, and the Hubble expansion law as probed by distant supernovae. In the near future, we can hope that measurements like these will begin to illuminate the nature of dark energy, starting with the question of whether it behaves like a cosmological constant or shows a more complicated evolution.

This article reviews why efforts to popularize particle physics are so important, offers advice on maximizing the impact and minimizing the effort involved in your own outreach endeavors, and supplies examples of existing effective programs. Readers are urged to make the 2005 World Year of Physics a focus of their current efforts in education and public outreach.

These proceedings represent a brief overview of the exciting physics coming out from the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) at Brookhaven National Laboratory. The experimental results from BRAHMS, PHOBOS, PHENIX and STAR indicate a strongly-coupled state of matter that can only be described on the partonic level. We review some of the latest experimental results as we presented at the meeting of the Division of Particles and Fields of the American Physical Society in Riverside, CA in August 2004.

This paper summarizes some recent experimental results in very high energy astrophysics, a very active research area with many exciting developments both in theory and observation.

I present a review of current and near-future experimental investigations of CP violation. In this review, I cover limits on particle electric dipole moments (EDMs) and CP violation studies in the K and B systems. The wealth of results from the new B factories provide impressive constraints on the CKM quark mixing matrix elements. Current and future measurements are focusing on processes dominated by loop diagrams, which probe physics at high mass scales in low-energy experiments.

This article is a short survey of some of the recent ideas and techniques employed in string theory and M–theory towards the goal of understanding our universe. It is by no means exhaustive, and the vast majority of the article has an emphasis on the development of ideas pertaining to realizing our universe as a solution of string (and M–) theory, and to cosmological matters.

In this talk I review recent experimental and theoretical results in QCD. Since the topic is too vast to cover within given time constraints I choose to highlight some of the subjects that I find particularly exciting. On the experimental side I focus on measurements made at the Tevatron. Specifically jet production rates, and the cross section for B meson production. In addition I discuss an interesting measurement made by the Belle collaboration of double exclusive charmonium production. On the theory side I quickly review recent advances in computing hadronic cross sections at subleading order in perturbation theory. I then move on to soft-collinear effective theory. After a lightning review of the formalism I discuss recently published results on color-suppressed B → D decays.

In this review, the computing challenges facing the current and next generation of high energy physics experiments will be discussed. High energy physics computing represents an interesting infrastructure challenge as the use of large-scale commodity computing clusters has increased. The causes and ramifications of these infrastructure challenges will be outlined. Increasing requirements, limited physical infrastructure at computing facilities, and limited budgets have driven many experiments to deploy distributed computing solutions to meet the growing computing needs for analysis reconstruction, and simulation. The current generation of experiments have developed and integrated a number of solutions to facilitate distributed computing. The current work of the running experiments gives an insight into the challenges that will be faced by the next generation of experiments and the infrastructure that will be needed.

Current experimental limits for new physics beyond the Standard Model and hints for deviations from Standard Model expectations will be reviewed, highlighting recent results. Possible signals that will be discussed include Higgs bosons, supersymmetric particles, large extra dimensions, new gauge bosons, dynamical symmetry breaking, muon g - 2, rare decays and lepton flavor violation. The discovery potential of the LHC and ILC will be presented, and the impact of discovery on answering fundamental questions of physics will be assessed.

The KamLAND experiment uses reactor anti-neutrinos to study the solar neutrino oscillation parameters. KamLAND recently updated the reactor neutrino measurement, with almost a factor 5 more statistics than previously reported. The measured spectral distortion in the anti-neutrino spectrum favors neutrino oscillation as the explanation for neutrino disappearance and gives the best value of to date.

The K2K long-baseline neutrino oscillation experiment has analyzed all data including the period ending in February 2004. The total data sample is from 8.9 × 10¹⁹ protons on target. We observe 108 events at the far detector, Super-Kamiokande, when 150.9 + 11.6 - 10.0 were expected. Further, we observe a distortion of the neutrino energy spectrum which is consistent with ν_μ to ν_τ oscillation. The probability that we would observe these results if there is no neutrino oscillation is 0.011%, a 3.9 σ significance.

The MINOS experiment is designed to search for neutrino oscillations. A neutrino beam from Fermilab is observed by the Near and Far detectors, separated by 735km. A comparison of the observed neutrino events at the two locations allows a measurement of the oscillation parameters to be made. Commissioning of the Near detector is underway and the Far detector is collecting cosmic ray and atmospheric neutrino data. Analysis of the atmospheric neutrino events has begun and neutrino, antineutrino event separation has been achieved. Data collection with the NuMI beam will begin in December 2004.

MiniBooNE is an experiment designed to refute or confirm the LSND oscillation result. MiniBooNE will look for oscillations of ν_μ → ν_e in a closed-box appearance analysis. MiniBooNE began collecting data in 2002, and is expected to continue data taking through 2005. Current MiniBooNE results are presented.

MiniBooNE seeks to confirm or refute the LSND oscillation signal with high statistical significance and different systematics. MiniBooNE has accumulated the world's largest ~1 GeV neutrino data set. MiniBooNE employs a cosmic muon calibration system to study the reconstruction of the energies and directions of muons in the detector. Progress of measurements of the ν_μ charged-current quasi-elastic and single pion production cross sections are presented.

The HARP experiment at CERN is performing extensive measurements of hadron production cross sections and secondary particle yields in the energy range 1.5-15 GeV over the full solid angle, using a large set of cryogenic and solid targets. The hadron production in this region is a relevant ingredient in several branches of neutrino physics, including the characterization of neutrino beams, precise prediction of atmospheric neutrino fluxes, and quantification of pion production and capture for neutrino factory design. An overall precision of a few percent is required from the experiment to reach the final aim. The experimental layout comprises two spectrometers to perform momentum measurement of the secondaries produced in the target. The track momentum reconstruction in the spectrometers is complemented by a set of particle identification detectors that allow, with some redundancy, the particle type discrimination. Approximately 30 TB of data corresponding to 420 millions of events have been collected. The measurements of hadron production cross sections in the forward region (up to about 250 mrad) are reported using the K2K replica targets and a proton beam of 12.9 GeV/c. This is an appealing physics case given the immediate interest for those experiments and for the neutrino community.

The MINERνA experiment is designed to make precision measurements of various neutrino cross sections in the low energy regime. We describe the detector and give the performance of some of the measured quantities.

The MINERνA experiment at Fermilab will use a fully-active scintillator based fine grained neutrino detector and the high rate NuMI neutrino beam. MINERνA will measure low energy neutrino interaction properties and cross sections to a new level of precision. These measurements will be critical input to present and future accelerator-based neutrino oscillation experiments in this energy range.

Scales of mass generation for Majorana neutrinos (as well as quarks and leptons) can be probed from high energy 2 → n inelastic scattering involving a multiple longitudinal gauge boson final state. We demonstrate that the unitarity of 2 → n scattering puts the strongest new upper limit on the scale of fermion mass generation, independent of the electroweak symmetry breaking scale . Strikingly, for Majorana neutrinos (quarks and leptons), we find that the strongest 2 → n limits fall in a narrow range, 136 - 170 TeV (3 - 107 TeV) with n = 20 - 24 (n = 2 - 12), depending on the observed fermion masses. Physical implications are discussed.

JUPITER (Jlab Unified Program to Investigate nuclear Targets and Electroproduction of Resonances) is a new collaboration between the Nuclear Physics electron scattering and High Energy Physics neutrino scattering communities to investigate the structure of nucleons and nuclei with electron and neutrino Beams. The first phase of JUPITER is Hall C experiment E04-001 on Inclusive Electron Scattering from Nuclear Targets. First data run of E04-001 is currently scheduled for January of 2005.

Emergence of neutrino physics is fueled by the recent growth in quality and quantity of experimental data, yet, there are still open questions. How much can the determination of mixing parameters be improved? Can we improve bounds on θ₁₃ before experiments designed specifically for this parameter start? How well can we determine or limit sterile fraction of neutrino flux from sun and sterile mixing angle? We examine the impact of outcome from new measurements in the context of providing answers to these questions.

We present recent results from the Antarctic Muon And Neutrino Detector Array (AMANDA), located at the South Pole in Antarctica. AMANDA-II, commissioned in 2000, is a multipurpose high energy neutrino telescope with a broad physics and astrophysics scope. We summarize the results from searches for a variety of sources of ultra-high energy neutrinos: TeV-PeV diffuse sources by measuring either muon tracks or cascades, neutrinos in excess of PeV by searching for muons traveling in the down-going direction and point sources.

Gamma-ray bursts are candidate sources of ultra-high energy cosmic rays and neutrinos. While cosmic rays are scattered in the intervening magnetic field, neutrinos point back to their sources being charge neutral and make neutrino astronomy possible. Detection of ultrahigh energy neutrinos by future experiments such as ANITA, ANTARES, Ice-Cube and RICE can provide useful information such as particle acceleration, radiation mechanism and magnetic field about the sources and their progenitors. Detection of ultrahigh energy neutrinos which point back to their sources may establish gamma-ray bursts as the sources of GZK cosmic rays.

Interactions of atmospheric neutrinos in Super-Kamiokande detector (SK-I) have been recently reanalysed. We report here results of standard oscillation analysis based on zenith angle distributions as well as the new analysis based on a subsample of higher precision data. The latter show a dip in the plot of the muon neutrino survival probability as a function of the ratio of the distance over neutrino energy. As a result the parameters of the transitions ν_μ ↔ ν_τ, are better constrained: 1.9 × 10^-3 < Δm² < 3.0 × 10^-3eV² and sin²2θ > 0.90 at 90% C.L.

High energy muons and neutrinos are produced by the interaction of primary cosmic rays in the Earth's upper atmosphere. These primary interactions produce mesons that decay into muons and neutrinos. SNO is in a unique position amongst underground experiments in the world. At the depth of over 6 km water equivalent, it is the deepest underground laboratory currently in operation. SNO can make a number of novel measurements using muons. First, SNO is sensitive to the downward muon rate coming from primary cosmic ray interactions. Second, SNO's great depth makes possible the detection of atmospheric neutrinos (via the detection of neutrino induced muons) from the nadir to inclinations as large as cos(θ_zenith) ≃ 0.4 above the horizon. Although SNO is a modest-size Cherenkov detector, SNO's unique niche allows it to make important model-independent checks of atmospheric neutrino oscillations.

Existence of non-zero neutrino magnetic moment would mean new physics beyond the standard model. A search for the neutrino magnetic moment has been conducted using the high statistic solar neutrino data from Super-Kamiokande-I. This is done by looking for the distortion to the observed energy spectrum of recoil electrons. A non-zero neutrino magnetic moment would cause an increase of event rates at lower energies. The search found no clear signal of neutrino magnetic moment. A limit on the neutrino magnetic moment has been obtained at 3.6 × 10^-10μ_B at 90% C.L. by fitting to the Super-Kamiokande day-night spectra. The effects of neutrino oscillation have been included in the analysis. Including results from other neutrino experiments limiting the oscillation region, a limit of 1.1 × 10^-10μ_B at 90% C.L. was obtained.

CLEAN is an approach to the detection of weakly interacting particles of astrophysical significance, combining large mass and low energy threshold. Preliminary measurements have been made of the time response of the scintillation light due to β energy deposition. We have measured two distinct time constants corresponding to the singlet and triplet states of liquid neon.

We review the possible connection between the CP-violating phases which appear in the lepton unitary mixing matrix with the ones which play a role in the leptogenesis mechanism.

A model based on SO(10) × SU(2)_F having symmetric mass textures with 5 zeros is constructed. The symmetric mass textures arising from the left-right symmetry breaking chain of SO(10) give rise to good predictions for the masses, mixing angles and CP violation measures in the quark and lepton sectors, all in agreement with the most up-to-date experimental data within 1 σ. Various lepton flavor violating decays in our model are also investigated. Unlike in models with lop-sided textures, our prediction for the decay rate of μ → e γ is much suppressed and yet it is large enough to be probed by the next generation of experiments. The observed baryonic asymmetry in the Universe can be accommodated utilizing soft leptogenesis.

Dark Energy is the dominant constituent of the universe and we have little understanding of it. We describe a new project aimed at measuring the dark energy equation of state parameter, w, to a statistical precision of ~5% with four separate techniques. The survey will image 5000 deg² in the southern sky and collect 300 million galaxies, 30,000 galaxy clusters, and 2000 Type Ia supernovae. The survey will be carried out using a new 3 deg² mosaic camera mounted at the prime focus of the 4m Blanco telescope at CTIO.

In this short note we discuss recent observation of linear correlation on log-log scale between distribution of dark and visible mass in gravitationally bound systems. The coefficient of such correlation appears to be essentially the same for various systems of dramatically different scales such as spiral galaxies of different luminosities and galaxy clusters. We briefly touch possible interpretations of this observation and implications for the mass of dark matter particle.

We use exact results in a new approach to quantum gravity to discuss some issues in black hole physics.

The CDMS collaboration has completed its first WIMP search run at the Soudan Underground Laboratory. This run consisted of operating 4 Ge and 2 Si ZIP detectors for 52.6 live days and yields a post-analysis WIMP exposure of 19.4 kg-d for recoil energies between 10-100 keV. Analysis of this data sets the world's lowest exclusion limits on the coherent WIMP-nucleon scalar cross-section for all WIMP masses above 15 GeV/c².

A dark matter field fluid model is proposed. This model assumes that interstellar space is uniformly filled with dark matter, which possesses a fluid property and a field property; the fluid property follows general fluid mechanics, the interaction of the field with an ordinary baryonic object is proportional to the mass of the object, it also has a force opposing gravity. The data of the Moon-Earth gravitational system agrees with this model very well and the average dark matter field fluid constant is 4.39 × 10^-22s^-1m^-(1-n). This is the first proof that the motion of celestial objects can be treated in a fluid medium. The cosmological redshift formula derived from this model describes the observed redshifts very well. A huge redshift from a distant celestial object may not necessarily indicate that it is quickly receding from us. The universe may not expand as rapidly as thought.

Observations of the multi-TeV spectra of the Mkn 501 and other nearby BL Lac objects exhibit the high energy cutoffs predicted to be the result of intergalactic annihilation interactions, primarily with IR photons having a flux level as determined by various astronomical observations. After correcting for such intergalactic absorption, these spectra can be explained within the framework of synchrotron self-Compton emission models. Stecker and Glashow have shown that the existence of this annihilation via electron-positron pair production puts strong constraints on Lorentz invariance violaition. Such constraints have important implications for some quantum gravity and large extra dimension models. A much smaller amount of Lorentz invariance violation has potential implications for understanding the spectra of ultrahigh energy cosmic rays.

In the first section, we discuss our fits to the latest HiRes monocular spectra. We find that the best fit for the extragalactic component has a spectral index of γ = -2.38±0.04 with a distribution of sources varying with a evolution parameter m = 2.8 ± 0.3. In the second section, we discuss preliminary results from a new composition measurement using HiRes monocular data. We find a predominantly light spectrum above 10^17.6 eV.

Anisotropy in arrival directions of ultrahigh energy cosmic rays offers the most direct way to search for the sources of these particles. We present estimates of the angular correlation in the HiRes sample of stereo events above 10¹⁹ eV, and in the combined sample of HiRes and AGASA events above 4 × 10¹⁹eV.

Long Gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) are believed to be originated from relativistic jets launched during the core collapses of some massive stars. The two core questions in the contemporary GRB science are the physical composition and the geometric configuration of the jets. Here I review the recent theoretical progress in both directions, and discuss how Swift may address both questions in the near future.

VERITAS is an array of 12-m imaging air-Cherenkov telescopes dedicated to gamma-ray astronomy in the 50 GeV - 50 TeV energy band. A prototype telescope was successfully operated between September 2003 and April 2004, yielding detections of the Crab Nebula and Mrk421 blazar. Construction has begun on the full array.

The High Energy Stereoscopic System (H.E.S.S.) consists of four telescopes each equipped with a 960 photomultiplier tube camera covering a field of view of 5°. The complete system has an angular resolution of a few arc minutes, an effective energy range from 100 GeV to 20 TeV with energy resolution of 15 to 20 percent and a flux sensitivity approaching 10^-13erg cm^-2s^-1. These characteristics, together with its southern hemisphere location, make H.E.S.S. ideally suited for spectral and morphological studies of Galactic Plane sources such as the supernova remnants RX J1713-3946 and SN 1006. Here we present data taken on these sources in 2003, during the construction and commissioning phase of H.E.S.S.

IceCube is a kilometer-scale deep-ice neutrino telescope, to be constructed at the South Pole beginning in January 2005. The concept and design of IceCube, its science goals, present status, and expected performance will be discussed.

Shock acceleration mechanism in gamma-ray bursts may produce photons up to a few PeV energy. Photons above 10-100 GeV and below a PeV energy are trapped inside the fireball due to a high opacity of electron-positron pair production with other photons. High energy photons escaping the fireball may interact with cosmic background radiation and provide delayed gamma-ray emission detectable by GLAST. Detection of the prompt and delayed emission may provide useful constraints on the gamma-ray burst model and also on the inter-galactic magnetic field.

Regions with high star formation rates (SFR) in starburst galaxies (SBGs) are frequently accompanied by high density clouds of interstellar matter (ISM). This may create nearly perfect conditions for generating diffuse gamma-ray radiation as high energy cosmic rays accelerated in supernovae explosions of massive progenitor stars interact with the ambient protons. If the current paradigm that supernovae are the origin sites of high energy cosmic rays is valid, then the star forming regions rich in supernovae may become the laboratories to test and study this phenomenon. The gamma-ray luminosity of these extragalactic objects is suppressed by a large distance factor compared to supernovae in our own galaxy. However, flux estimates indicate that if star bursting regions have a proper combination of critical parameters (intersteller medium density, age, size, supernova rate, magnetic field strength) the cumulative enhancement of the gamma-ray luminosity resulting from multiple explosions of supernovae into dense ISM may generate an observable flux for nearby SBGs such as M82, IC342. A search for TeV gamma-ray emission from IC342 was conducted with the Whipple 10m gamma-ray telescope from September 2002 to March 2004.

We discuss the most recent calculations of the top quark total cross section and transverse momentum distributions at the Tevatron and the LHC. These calculations include the soft-gluon corrections at next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO). The soft NNLO corrections stabilize the scale dependence of the cross section.

We report a measurement of the production cross section using dilepton events with jets and missing transverse energy in collisions at . Using 197 pb^-1 of data recorded by the upgraded Collider Detector at Fermilab (CDF II), we use two complementary techniques to select candidate events. The combined result yields a production cross section of which is consistent with the Standard Model.

A measurement of the production cross-section at with the DØ detector at the Fermilab Tevatron, based on the application of a multivariate topological method is presented. The integrated luminosity corresponds to 143.9 pb^-1 in the μ+jets and 141.2 pb^-1 in the e+jets channel. The preliminary cross-section is measured to be .

We present measurements of the production cross section in b-tagged lepton + jets events from collisions at 1.96 TeV using the CDF detector at Fermilab. B-jets are tagged with either a secondary vertex algorithm, or a soft lepton tagger that identifies muons from B hadron semileptonic decays. With Tevatron Run II data, we estimate the signal fraction in two different ways: by estimating the various background contributions, and by fitting directly the leading jet transverse energy spectrum for the signal and background contributions. A subset of the sample, with two secondary vertex tagged jets, yields a production cross section consistent with the inclusive measurements. Results are consistent with a Standard Model signal and current measurements of the top quark mass.

Measurements of the production cross-section at in proton-antiproton collisions were performed by the CDF and DØ collaborations using final states where both W's decay hadronically. Each experiment uses luminosity of about 160 pb^-1 of data collected during Run II of the Fermilab Tevatron collider. Beside kinematical observables both experiments take advantage of identifying b jets based on lifetime tagging. While CDF counts the number of b-tags over background after a cut based analysis, DØ counts the excess of events after a neural network based kinematical selection and requiring a b-tagged jet.

CDF obtains ; .

We present a search for the electroweak production of single top quarks using 156-169 pb^-1 of electron+jets data collected by the DØ detector, at , at the Tevatron proton-antiproton collider at Fermilab. In the absence of any significant evidence for single top production we set upper limits on the cross section at 95% C.L., of 14 pb for s-channel, 20 pb for t-channel, and 18 pb for the combined s + t channel.

We have performed a search for the electroweak production of single top quarks in collisions at the Fermilab Tevatron at a center of mass energy of . The search was performed in the muon plus jets decay channel requiring at least one b-tagged jet. The data were collected using the DØ detector between August 2002 and September 2003 corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 158 pb^-1. The resulting 95% C.L. upper limits on the production cross sections are 27 pb in the s-channel, 41 pb in the t-channel, and 36 pb in the combined s + t channel using the secondary vertex tagger (SVT) algorithm. We also present results from the combined electron and muon channel search using the DØ detector.

In this paper we present new results from single-top-quark searches with the CDF II detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. In a data sample of 162 pb^-1 of proton-antiproton collisions accumulated at CDF, we find no significant evidence for signal and set an upper limit of 17.8 pb on the total single-top production rate, at 95% confidence level. Individual upper limits of 10.1 pb and 13.6 pb are set on the the individual rates of t–channel, and s–channel single-top, respectively.

Two measurements of the W-helicity in decays at have been carried out using data collected by the DØ detector. Semileptonic events in the electron and muon channel were used. In these events the distribution of the angle between the lepton and the direction of the top measured in the rest frame of the intermediate W boson is sensitive to the helicity of the W. The two analyses differ in the usage of lifetime tag information in the event selection. With an integrated luminosity of 169 pb^-1 and 158 pb^-1 in the e+jets and μ+jets channels respectively, an upper limit on the fraction f₊ of positive helicity W's of f₊<0.244 is set by both analyses at 90% confidence level.

A measurement of the ratio of branching fractions, R = B(t→Wb)/B(t→Wq), with q being any quark with I₃ = -1/2 and Q = -1/3, is presented. This analysis considers samples of single- and double-tagged lepton+jets events obtained with the DØ detector, corresponding to integrated luminosities of 169 pb^-1 and 158 pb^-1, respectively in the e+jets and μ+jets channels. Two different lifetime taggers, CSIP and SVT, are used.

We present a measurement of the top quark mass, using lepton+jets events collected in collisions at at the Fermilab Tevatron using the DØ detector. The dataset corresponds to an integrated luminosity of approximately 160 pb^-1 collected between April 2002 and November 2003. We use a template method for measuring the top quark mass using a kinematic fitting technique. We measure the top quark mass to be:

We measure the mass of the top quark using 162 pb^-1 of data collected by the CDF experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron in Run II. The decay chain is studied using a novel technique called the Multivariate Template Method (MTM). Using this technique we obtain a result of for the top quark.

We measure the ratio R = B(t→Wb)/B(t→Wq) in top-quark decays at CDF. R is determined from the relative rates of identified b jets in decays reconstructed both in the lepton-plus-jets and dilepton final states. We obtain R>0.62 at the 95% CL, consistent with Standard Model expectations.

We study the signatures for new TeV resonances that couple to top or bottom quarks both at the Tevatron Run II and at the LHC. We find that it is possible to study these resonances when they are produced in association with a pair of heavy quarks or in association with a single top at the LHC. In particular, with an integrated luminosity of 300 fb^-1 at the LHC, it is possible to probe resonance masses up to around 2 TeV.

We report on a search for anomalous kinematics of dilepton events in collisions at using 193.5 pb^-1 of data collected with the CDF II detector. We developed a new a priori technique designed to isolate the subset in a data sample revealing the largest deviation from Standard Model expectations and to quantify the significance of this departure. In the four-variable space considered, no particular subset shows a significant discrepancy and we find that the probability to obtain a data sample less consistent with the Standard Model than what is observed is 1.0–4.5%.

We present the results of a search for charged Higgs in the decay products of at the CDF II detector at the Tevatron. The search is based on the cross section measurements of production in three exclusive decay channels: dilepton, lepton + jets and lepton + hadronic tau. Assuming the charged Higgs decays only via , and , and , limits in the MSSM (m_Higgs, tan(β)) plane are obtained at tree level. A model-independent analysis is introduced in which the results are independent of Higgs branching ratios. This analysis results in BR(t→Hb)<0.7 at 95%CL for 80 GeV<m_Higgs<150 GeV.
