Several searches for heavy stable charged particles have recently been performed using data from pp collisions at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). This review summarizes some of the theoretical and experimental motivations for such searches, and discusses searches for stable squarks, stable gluino, stable sleptons and multiply charged heavy stable particles with the CMS and ATLAS detectors.

Differential distributions in the π₀π₀γ system created in the annihilation channel of an electron–positron collision are considered. The energy fractions of the pions (Dalitz-plot) distribution are presented in a general form and in approximation of intermediate vector mesons (excited and ordinary ones). It is pointed out that in relevant experiments the generalized polarizability of the neutral pion can be measured. Numerical illustrations are presented.

mixing offers a profound probe into the effects of new physics beyond the Standard Model. In this paper, and mass differences are considered taking the effect of both Z- and Z′-mediated flavor-changing neutral currents in the mixing (q = d, s). Our estimated mass of Z′ boson is accessible at the experiments LHC and B-factories in near future.

We study the general form of Möbius covariant local commutation relations in conformal chiral quantum field theories and show that they are intrinsically determined up to structure constants, which are subject to an infinite system of constraints. The deformation theory of these commutators is controlled by a cohomology complex, whose cochain spaces consist of linear maps that are subject to a complicated symmetry property, a generalization of the anti-symmetry of the Lie algebra case.

We construct realizations of the generators of the κ-Minkowski space and κ-Poincaré algebra as formal power series in the h-adic extension of the Weyl algebra. The Hopf algebra structure of the κ-Poincaré algebra related to different realizations is given. We construct realizations of the exterior derivative and one-forms, and define a differential calculus on κ-Minkowski space which is compatible with the action of the Lorentz algebra. In contrast to the conventional bicovariant calculus, the space of one-forms has the same dimension as the κ-Minkowski space.

Recently there has been progress on the calculation of n-point correlation functions with two "heavy" (with large quantum numbers) states at strong coupling. We extend these findings by computing three-point functions corresponding to a folded three-spin semiclassical string with one angular momentum in AdS and two equal spins in the sphere. We recover previous results as limiting cases. Also, following a recent paper by Buchbinder and Tseytlin, we provide relevant four-point functions and consider some of their limits.

This is the next step of uncovering the relation between string theory and exotic smooth ℝ⁴. Exotic smoothness of ℝ⁴ is correlated with D6-brane charges in IIA string theory. We construct wild embeddings of spheres and relate them to a class of topological quantum Dp-branes as well to KK theory. These branes emerge when there are nontrivial NS–NS H-fluxes on S³ where the topological classes are determined by wild embeddings S²→S³. Then wild embeddings of higher dimensional p-complexes into Sⁿ correspond to Dp-branes. These wild embeddings as constructed by using gropes are basic objects to understand exotic smoothness as well Casson handles. Next we build C^⋆-algebras corresponding to the embeddings. Finally we consider topological quantum D-branes as those which emerge from wild embeddings in question. We construct an action for these quantum D-branes and show that the classical limit agrees with the Born–Infeld action such that flat branes = usual embeddings.

We consider the half-genus expansion of the resolvent function in the β-deformed matrix model with three-Penner potential under the AGT conjecture and the 0d–4d dictionary. The partition function of the model, after the specification of the paths, becomes the DF conformal block for fixed c and provides the Nekrasov partition function expanded both in and in ϵ = ϵ₁+ϵ₂. Exploiting the explicit expressions for the lower terms of the free energy extracted from the above expansion, we derive the first few ϵ corrections to the Seiberg–Witten prepotential in terms of the parameters of SU(2), N_f = 4, supersymmetric gauge theory.

We argue that a convenient way to analyze instabilities of black holes in AdS space is via Bragg–Williams construction of a free energy function. Starting with a pedagogical review of this construction in condensed matter systems and also its implementation to Hawking–Page transition, we study instabilities associated with hairy black holes and also with the R-charged black holes. For the hairy black holes, an analysis of thermal quench is presented.
