Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs) may constitute most of the matter in the Universe. There are intriguing results from DAMA/LIBRA, CoGeNT and CRESST-II, and more recently CDMS-Si suggesting a relatively light dark matter candidate of mass <10 GeV/c². At the same time, experiments using heavy nuclear targets such as CDMS-Ge and XENON detectors suggest that there is no DM candidates with M_W>15 GeV/c². We review the existing experiments and the problems associated with light mass WIMP detection. We find that all six experiments considered (DAMA, CoGeNT, CRESST, CDMS-Si, CDMS-Ge, XENON) are consistent if one assumes that the mass of WIMP is lower than expected: 3.4<M_W<6.8 GeV/c². This is followed by a discussion of the properties of "new" detectors, which may enable more reliable detection of low mass WIMPs.

This review summarizes the recent results for top quark and Higgs boson measurements from experiments at Tevatron, a proton–antiproton collider at a center-of-mass energy of , and the Large Hadron Collider, a proton–proton collider at a center-of-mass energy of . These results include the discovery of a Higgs-like boson and measurement of its various properties, and measurements in the top quark sector, e.g. top quark mass, spin, charge asymmetry and production of single top quark.

Starting with the usual definitions of octonions and split octonions in terms of Zorn vector matrix realization, we have made an attempt to write the continuity equation and other wave equations of dyons in split octonions. Accordingly, we have investigated the work energy theorem or "Poynting Theorem," Maxwell stress tensor and Lorentz invariant for generalized fields of dyons in split octonion electrodynamics. Our theory of dyons in split octonion formulations is discussed in term of simple and compact notations. This theory reproduces the dynamic of electric (magnetic) in the absence of magnetic (electric) charges.

We apply the Bogoliubov compensation principle to QCD. The nontrivial solution of compensation equations for a spontaneous generation of the anomalous three-gluon interaction leads to the determination of parameters of the theory, including behavior of the gauge coupling α_s(Q²) without the Landau singularity, the gluon condensate V₂ ≃0.01 GeV⁴, mass of the lightest glueball M_G≃1500 MeV in satisfactory agreement with the phenomenological knowledge. The results strongly support the applicability of Bogoliubov compensation approach to gauge theories of the Standard Model.

The Riemann hypothesis states that all nontrivial zeros of the zeta function lie in the critical line Re(s) = 1/2. Hilbert and Pólya suggested that one possible way to prove the Riemann hypothesis is to interpret the nontrivial zeros in the light of spectral theory. Using the construction of the so-called super-zeta functions or secondary zeta functions built over the Riemann nontrivial zeros and the regularity property of one of this function at the origin, we show that it is possible to extend the Hilbert–Pólya conjecture to systems with countably infinite number of degrees of freedom. The sequence of the nontrivial zeros of the Riemann zeta function can be interpreted as the spectrum of a self-adjoint operator of some hypothetical system described by the functional approach to quantum field theory. However, if one considers the same situation with numerical sequences whose asymptotic distributions are not "far away" from the asymptotic distribution of prime numbers, the associated functional integral cannot be constructed. Finally, we discuss possible relations between the asymptotic behavior of a sequence and the analytic domain of the associated zeta function.

We study particle interaction with a Dirac step potential. In the standard Klein energy zone, the hypothesis of Klein pair production predicts the existence of free/oscillatory antiparticles. In this paper, we discuss the tunneling energy zone characterized by evanescent wave functions in the classically forbidden region. We ask the question of the nature, particle or antiparticle, of the densities within the classically forbidden region. The answer to this question is relevant to the correct form of the reflection coefficient.

We performed the renormalization group analysis of scalar models exhibiting spontaneous symmetry breaking. It is shown that an infrared fixed point appears in the broken symmetric phase of the models, which induces a dynamical scale, that can be identified with the correlation length. This enables one to identify the type of the phase transition which shows similarity to the one appearing in the crossover scale. The critical exponent ν of the correlation length also proved to be equal in the crossover and the infrared scaling regimes.

The cosmology of flat Friedmann–Lemaître–Robertson–Walker (FLRW) universes dominated by a single scalar field is discussed. General features of the evolution of the universe and the scalar field are illustrated by specific examples. It is shown that in some situations the most important contribution to inflation comes from the approach to a region of slow roll, rather than from the period of leaving a slow-roll regime.

In recent years, there has been a renewed interest on axigluons as part of a possible extension of strong interactions at high energies. In this paper, we use recent ATLAS measurements of the dijet spectrum in order to set limits on the axigluon mass and coupling to quarks. We pay special attention to the methodology used to extract the resonant contribution from theoretical simulations. Finally, we present some predictions for the next LHC run at .

We make a critical study of two highly-constrained models of supersymmetry — the constrained minimal supersymmetric standard model (cMSSM), and the nonuniversal Higgs mass (NUHM) model — in the light of the 125–126 GeV Higgs boson, the first observation of B_s→μμ at the LHCb, and the updated B → τν branching ratio at BELLE. It turns out that these models are still allowed by the experimental data, even if we demand that there be a light stop with mass less than 1.5 TeV. The only significant effects of all these constraints are to push the mass of the light stop above ~500 GeV, and to prefer the universal trilinear coupling A₀ to be large and negative. We calculate the Higgs boson branching ratios to WW, ZZ, ττ and γγ in these models and show that improved experimental limits on these could put them to the most stringent experimental tests yet.
