We study the time evolution of magnetic fields in various configurations of spatially inhomogeneous pseudoscalar fields, which are the coherent superposition of axions. The new induction equation for the magnetic field, which accounts for this inhomogeneity, is derived for such systems. Based on this equation, we study, first, the evolution of two Chern–Simons (CS) waves interacting with a linearly decreasing pseudoscalar field. The nonzero gradient of the pseudoscalar field results in the mixing between these CS waves. Then, we consider the problem in a compact domain, when an initial CS wave is mirror symmetric. In this situation, the inhomogeneity of a pseudoscalar field acts as the effective modification of the $\alpha$-dynamo parameter. Thus, we conclude that the influence of a spatially inhomogeneous pseudoscalar field on the magnetic field evolution strongly depends on the geometry of the system.

In this work, we have investigated the cosmology of holographic origin within modified $f(Q,T)$ gravity framework by employing different forms of the scale factor viz. power law, intermediate, emergent, and logamediate forms. The reconstruction of $f(Q,T)$ gravity is done by assuming the generalized Holographic Dark Energy as the background fluid where the IR cut-off is considered $(\alpha H^2+\beta Ḣ)$. We consider two cosmological models corresponding to the intermediate and emergent scale factors. By choosing a linear combination of Q and T in each case, we analyze the equation of state (EoS) parameter. Considering the intermediate and logamediate scale factors, the reconstruction of $f(Q,T)$ gravity is achieved using the holographic fluid as background fluid without any functional form assumption for f. In some cases, it is observed that the EoS parameter could cross phantom boundary in later stages and thus indicate the possibility of avoidance of big rip.

Based on the work of Chandrasekhar [The Mathematical Theory of Black Holes, Chap. 3, Sec. 20 (Oxford University Press, 1992)], we investigate the null geodesic structure of the emergent Barriola–Vilenkin (BV) spacetime in the context of k-essence theory. For k-essence, the emergent gravity metric is a one-to-one correspondence with the BV metric connected to the Schwarzschild background, where the global monopole charge is replaced by the dark energy density. This equivalence holds specifically for a certain class of k-essence scalar fields that have been constructed by Gangopadhyay and Manna [Eur. Phys. Lett. 100, 49001 (2012)]. We have traced out different trajectories for null geodesic in the presence of dark energy for the k-essence emergent BV spacetime. It is demonstrated that the outcomes deviate from the typical Schwarzschild spacetime owing to the fundamental configuration with a constant dark energy density.

Cosmological models with inflation and those with bounce have their own strengths and weaknesses. Here, we construct a model in which a phase of bounce is followed by a viable inflationary phase. This incorporates several advantages of both and hence, is a more viable model for cosmic evolution. We explore scenarios wherein the bouncing phase smoothly transits to an inflationary one, with the pivot scale leaving the Hubble horizon during the latter era, thereby maintaining consistency with observations. Staying within the ambit of Einstein–Hilbert gravity augmented by the inflation, we ensure a pre-inflationary bounce by introducing a second scalar field that helps engineer the requisite violation of the null energy condition. Potential ghost instabilities can be mitigated by invoking a nontrivial coupling between the two scalar fields.

A linear response relation between metric and fluid perturbations driven by a background internal noise source is used as a framework for addressing stochastic effects in order to establish a mesoscopic theory for dense matter relativistic stars. In this paper, nonradial polar perturbations are worked out, which are important from the point of view of detection in future. We present qualitative first results in this paper, numerical estimates have to await further progress in theoretical modeling. These perturbations carry a new generalized stochastic nature and are obtained as solutions of the classical Einstein–Langevin equation which has been recently proposed. The significance of these stochastic nonradial polar perturbations lies at probing the intermediate sub-hydro scales inside the dense fluid. This formalism extends towards a mesoscopic scale nonequilibrium/near-equilibrium statistical mechanics study for relativistic star interiors. The generalized stochastic noise originates as the remnant of collapse mechanism and dynamical effects at intermediate scales in isolated massive stars which drives these polar perturbations. More specifically, for cold dense matter which is our focus in this paper, it is either the interplay between the degeneracy pressure and the gravitational pressure, or the multiscale phenomena like turbulences giving rise to the seeds of stochastic effects in the gravitating body. Characterizing such stochastic effects can lead to an improved understanding of the nature of dense matter and help to probe multiple scales which are yet untouched.

In this paper, we explore the physical properties and characteristics of static, spherically symmetric wormholes in the background of Rastall–Rainbow gravity. The Rastall–Rainbow gravity theory has recently been proposed as a combination of two theories, namely, the Rastall theory and the Rainbow description. We implemented noncommutativity by adopting two different distributions of energy density (Gaussian and Lorentzian) in the Morris and Thorne metric. We solve the field equations analytically and discuss all the properties of wormholes depending on the two model parameters. Notably, for specific parameter ranges, one can alleviate the violation of the WEC at the throat and its neighborhood.

Colliding or noncolliding plane-fronted electromagnetic or gravitational waves are the asymptotic limit of Robinson–Trautman spherical electromagnetic or gravitational waves. Noncolliding plane-fronted waves contain no information about their sources whereas colliding waves contain information about possibly the motion of their sources. As a first step to investigate the latter phenomenon, we construct an asymptotic limit of Liénard–Wiechert electromagnetic fields in the context of Minkowskian spacetime. This has the advantage that the source is well known and the calculations can be carried out in full detail. The final result is an algebraically general Maxwell field which consists of colliding plane-fronted waves in a subregion of Minkowskian spacetime and an interesting byproduct is a novel perspective on a Maxwell field originally discovered by Bateman.

The imprint of interacting dark energy (IDE) needs to be correctly identified in order to avoid bias in constraints on IDE. This paper investigates the large-scale imprint of IDE in redshift-space distortions (RSDs), using Euclid-like photometric prescriptions. A first attempt at incorporating the IDE dynamics in the galaxy (clustering and evolution) biases is made. Without IDE dynamics taken into account in the galaxy biases, as is conventionally done, the results suggest that for a constant dark energy (DE) equation of state parameter, an IDE model where the DE transfer rate is proportional to the DE density exhibits an alternating, positive–negative effect in the RSDs angular power spectrum. However, when the IDE dynamics is incorporated in the galaxy biases, it is found that the apparent positive–negative alternating effect vanishes: implying that neglecting IDE dynamics in the galaxy biases can result in “artifacts” that can lead to incorrect identification of the IDE imprint. In general, the results show that multi-tracer analysis will be needed to beat down cosmic variance in order for the RSDs angular power spectrum as a statistic to be a viable diagnostic of IDE. Moreover, it is found that RSDs hold the potential to constrain IDE on large scales, at redshifts $z\le 1$, with the scenario having IDE dynamics incorporated in the biases showing better potential.
