The 2013 update of the discovery of nuclide project is presented. Details of the 12 new nuclides observed for the first time in 2013 are described. In addition, the discovery of ²⁶⁶Db has been included and the previous assignments of six other nuclides were changed. Overview tables of where and how nuclides were discovered have also been updated and are discussed.

In recent years, an extensive survey on various wave equations of relativistic quantum mechanics with different types of potential interactions has been a line of great interest. In this regime, special attention has been given to the Dirac equation because the spin-½ fermions represent the most frequent building blocks of the molecules and atoms. Motivated by the considerable interest in this equation and its relativistic symmetries (spin and pseudospin), in the presence of solvable potential model, we attempt to obtain the relativistic bound states solution of the Dirac equation with double ring-shaped Kratzer and oscillator potentials under the condition of spin and pseudospin symmetries. The solutions are reported for arbitrary quantum number in a compact form. The analytic bound state energy eigenvalues and the associated upper- and lower-spinor components of two Dirac particles have been found. Several typical numerical results of the relativistic eigenenergies have also been presented. We found that the existence or absence of the ring shaped potential has strong effects on the eigenstates of the Kratzer and oscillator particles, with a wide band spectrum except for the pseudospin-oscillator particles, where there exist a narrow band gap.

We have investigated the energy distribution of and its spin states (F) effecting on muonic X-ray transfer yield in the solid thin film method. Argon (Ar) ion has been considered as the implanted ion in solid deuterium (sD₂) layer at a temperature of T = 3 K. A kinetics model has been used, the corresponding rate equations have been constructed and our results of X-ray yield have been compared with recent measured data. The μd_1s muonic atoms, which can take part in resonant molecular formation, have been separated from atoms participating in nonresonant reactions. On this basis, the integrated number of X-rays has been calculated. The results show that the effect of μd_1s energy distribution on the number of X-photons is not serious, while its spin states strongly affect the muonic X-ray yield.

In this study, we consider Duffin–Kemmer–Petiau (DKP) equation in three-dimensional, hence we review resemble Maxwell equations where we can derive from DKP equation. An exact solution of the three-dimensional DKP equation is presented in the presence of the pseudo-Coulomb potential-plus-ring-shaped potential. As we derive the energy eigenvalues and corresponding eigenfunctions, we explain about DKP equation under different forms of interactions.

The vector analyzing power and differential cross-section for the elastic scattering of ⁸He nucleus from polarized protons at 71 MeV/nucleon have been analyzed in the framework of the optical model potentials. Microscopic single folding (SF) optical potentials (OP) have been constructed based upon two different effective nucleon–nucleon (NN) interactions, namely Jeukenne–Lejeune–Mahaux (JLM) and BDM3Y1 effective interactions. The effect of ⁸He nuclear structure has been tested through two different choices of the nuclear density distribution. It is concluded that the nucleus ⁸He may be considered as a thick skin exotic nucleus. In order to investigate the vector analyzing power data, besides the Thomas phenomenological representation, three different forms of the spin–orbit (SO) part of the OP have been considered. These forms are based directly or indirectly upon the density distribution of ⁸He nucleus. It is found that SO potentials of larger root mean square radii are able to successfully describe the vector analyzing power data more than those of shorter radii.
