I present quantum wormhole solutions in the Kantowski-Sachs space-time generated from coupling the gravitational field to the axion and EM fields. These solutions correspond to the classical ones found by Keay and Laflamme and by Cavaglià et al.

Weak gravitational field in the asymptotic region far outside the core of a global texture is investigated without the nonlinear σ-model approximation. We solve the linearized Einstein field equations with the stress-energy tensor contributed by a spherically symmetric global texture to obtain the asymptotic form of the metric. It is shown that, even in this more general case than that of the self-similar solution in the nonlinear σ-model approximation, the metric of the spatial hyperspace in the asymptotic region is that of a flat space with a deficit solid angle whose magnitude is independent of time.

A recipe to use post-Newtonian approximation in the case of the shell dynamics is found. The obtained motion equation coincide with the exact one.

We study the quantum fluctuations in O(n) symmetric theory and show that when n=2 the fluctuation of the field makes the problem in principle nonperturbative. The analysis based on loop expansions is not applicable in this case.

We prove that the β-function of the gauge coupling in 2+1 dimensions gauge theory coupled to any renormalizable system of spinor and scalar fields is zero. This result holds both when the gauge field action is the Chern-Simons action and when it is the topologically massive action.

A modification of the standard model of electroweak interactions with the nonlocal Higgs sector is proposed. Proper form of nonlocality makes Higgs particles unobservable after the electroweak symmetry breaking. They appear only as a virtual state because their propagator is an entire function. We discuss some specific consequences of this approach comparing it with the conventional standard model.

The quantum mechanics of charged particles or strings interacting with static vortices is written down in a geometric language. The wave function acquires a topological path dependence or surface dependence whose physical interpretation is discussed.

We calculate the top quark loop corrections to the vertex in the chiral Lagrangian of the dynamical electroweak symmetry breaking theory. We use the effective Lagrangian based on coset space SU(2)×U(1)/U(1) with the electroweak gauge interaction switched off, so these corrections are directly related to the physics associated with the heavy top quark and the mass generation in the dynamical models.

The matrix model with a Bethe tree embedding space (coincides at large N with the Kazakov-Migdal “induced QCD” model¹) is investigated. We further elaborate the Riemann-Hilbert approach of Ref. 2 assuming certain holomorphic properties of the solution. The critical scaling (an edge singularity of the density) is found to be arccos D, for |D|<1, and arccos for D>1. Explicit solutions are constructed at D=1/2 and D=∞.

The 331 model offers an explanation of flavor by anomaly cancellation between three families. It predicts three exotic quarks, Q=D,S,T and five extra gauge bosons comprising an additional neutral Z₂ and four charged dileptonic gauge bosons (Y⁻⁻ ,Y⁻), (Y⁺⁺,Y⁺). Production of , QY, YY and Z₂ at a pp collider is calculated, and signatures are discussed.
