We review recent theoretical progress in evaluating higher order QCD corrections to Higgs boson differential distributions at hadron–hadron colliders.

We investigate a connection between a renormalon ambiguity of heavy quark mass and the gluon condensate contribution into the quark dispersion law related to a virtuality defining a displacement of the heavy quark from the perturbative mass-shell, which happens inside a hadron.

We consider N=2 SU(2) Seiberg–Witten duality theory for models with N_f=2 and N_f=3 quark flavors. We investigate arbitrary large bare mass ratios between two or three quarks at the singular points. For N_f=2 we explore large bare mass ratios corresponding to a singularity in the strong coupling region. For N_f=3 we determine the location of both strong and weak coupling singularities that produce specific large bare mass ratios.

A covariant scheme for material coupling with GL(N,R) gauge formulation of gravity is studied. We revisit a known idea of a Yang–Mills type construction, where quadratical power of cosmological constant has to be considered in consistence with vacuum Einstein's gravity. Then, matter coupling with gravity is introduced and some constraints on fields and background appear. Finally, exploring the N=3 case we elucidate that introduction of auxiliary fields decreases the number of these constraints.

The current wealth of charmless B decay data may suggest the presence of final state rescattering. In a factorized amplitude approach, better fits are found by incorporating two SU(3) rescattering phase differences, giving δ ~ 65° and σ ~ 90°–100°. Fitting with unitarity phase ϕ₃ as a fit parameter gives ϕ₃ ~ 96°, the CP asymmetries A_{π π}, S_{π π} agree better with BaBar, and the σ phase is slightly lower. Keeping ϕ₃=60° fixed in fit gives S_{π π} ~ -0.9, which agrees better with Belle. With the sizable δ, σ rescattering phases as fitted, many direct CP asymmetries flip sign, and B⁰→π⁰π⁰, K^-K⁺ rates are of order 10^-6, which can be tested soon.

We investigate the dynamics of particles moving in a spacetime augmented by one extra dimension in the context of the induced matter theory of gravity. We examine the appearance of a fifth force as an effect caused by the extra dimension and discuss two different approaches to the fifth force formalism. We then give two simple examples of application of both approaches by considering the case of a Ricci-flat warped-product manifold and a generalized Randall–Sundrum space.

It is shown that the ratio of the production rates of the pairs B⁺B^- and should experience a substantial and rapid variation with energy within the width of the ϒ(4S) resonance, crossing the value of one near the center of the resonance. This behavior is due to an interference of the rapidly changing with energy Breit–Wigner phase with the phase introduced in the wave function of charged mesons by their Coulomb interaction.
