We review and elaborate on our discussion in hep-th/0606112 on the interplay between the target space and the worldsheet description of the open topological string partition function, for the example of the conifold. We discuss the appropriate phase space and canonical form for the system. We find a map between choices of polarization and the worldsheet description, based on which we study the behavior of the partition function under canonical transformations.

We analyze behavior of D3-branes in BGMPZ throat geometry. We show that although single brane has some of the moduli stabilized multi-brane system tends to expand and form a bound state. Such a system loses non-Abelian gauge symmetry. The described mechanism is an example of gauge symmetry breaking triggered by SUSY breaking.

In this paper we discuss a method of generating solutions of the Einstein equations on supersymmetric and non-supersymmetric backgrounds. The method involves the embedding of a supersymmetric spacetime into another, curved spacetime. We present three examples with constituent spacetimes which support "charges", one of which was known previously and the other two of which are new. All of the examples have PP-waves as one of the embedding constituents.

We discuss phenomenological consequences of renormalizable Z' models with continuously distributed mass. We point out that one of the possible LHC signatures for such model is the existence of broad resonance in Drell–Yan reaction pp →Z' →l⁺l^-.

The charged current neutrino–nucleon interaction cross-section is evaluated using Thermodynamical Bag Model (TBM) in the neutrino energy range 1 < E_ν < 200 GeV with the value of the four-momentum transfer squared 0.1 < Q² < 20 GeV² and the Bjorken variable 0.1 < x < 0.5. The hadronic current carries the linear moments of the reaction that depend on the Bjorken scaling variable x as well as the four-momentum transfer. The results obtained have been compared with the experimental values.

In the context of the braneworld, a method to find consistent solutions to Einstein's field equations in the interior of a spherically symmetric, static and non-uniform stellar distribution with Weyl stresses is developed. This method, based on the fact that any braneworld stellar solution must have the general relativity solution as a limit, produces a constraint which reduces the degrees of freedom on the brane. Hence the nonlocality and non-closure of the braneworld equations can be overcome. The constraint found is physically interpreted as a necessary condition to regain general relativity, and a particular solution for it is used to find an exact and physically acceptable analytical internal solution to no-uniform stellar distributions on the brane. It is shown that such an exact solution is possible due to the fact that bulk corrections to pressure, density and a metric component are a null source of anisotropic effects on the brane. A conjecture is proposed regarding the possibility of finding physically relevant exact solutions to non-uniform stellar distributions on the brane.

As a simple but important example of dynamical black hole, we analyze the dynamical black hole in n-dimensional Vaidya spacetime in detail. We investigated the thermodynamics of field equation in n-dimensional Vaidya spacetime. The unified first law was derived in terms of the methods proposed by Hayward. The first law of dynamical black hole was obtained by projecting the unified first law along the trapping horizon. The second law of dynamical black hole is also discussed.
