Violation of Lorentz invariance and CPT symmetry is a predicted phenomenon of Planck-scale physics. Various types of data are analyzed to search for Lorentz violation under the Standard Model Extension (SME) framework, including neutrino oscillation data. MiniBooNE is a short-baseline neutrino oscillation experiment at Fermilab. The measured excesses from MiniBooNE cannot be reconciled within the neutrino Standard Model (νSM); thus it might be a signal of new physics, such as Lorentz violation. We have analyzed the sidereal time-dependence of MiniBooNE data for signals of the possible breakdown of Lorentz invariance in neutrinos. In this brief review, we introduce Lorentz violation, the neutrino sector of the SME and the analysis of short-baseline neutrino oscillation experiments. We then present the results of the search for Lorentz violation in MiniBooNE data. This review is based on the published result.

We investigate some exact static cylindrically symmetric solutions for a perfect fluid in the metric f(R) theory of gravity. For this purpose, three different families of solutions are explored. We evaluate energy density, pressure, Ricci scalar and functional form of f(R). It is interesting to mention here that two new exact solutions are found from the last approach, one is in particular form and the other is in the general form. The general form gives a complete description of a cylindrical star in f(R) gravity.

We study the phonon tunneling through the horizon of an acoustic black hole by solving the Hamilton–Jacobi equation. We also make use of the closed-path integral to calculate the tunneling probability, and an improved way to determine the temporal contribution is used. Both the results from the two methods agree with Hawking's initial analysis.

We study the structure of graded Lie superalgebras with arbitrary dimension and over an arbitrary field 𝕂. We show that any of such algebras 𝔏 with a symmetric G-support is of the form 𝔏 = U + ∑_jI_j with U a subspace of 𝔏₁ and any I_j a well-described graded ideal of 𝔏, satisfying [I_j, I_k] = 0 if j≠k. Under certain conditions, it is shown that 𝔏 = (⨁_k∈K I_k) ⊕ (⨁_{q ∈Q} I_q), where any I_k is a gr-simple graded ideal of 𝔏 and any I_q is a completely determined low-dimensional non-gr-simple graded ideal of 𝔏, satisfying [I_q, I_q'] = 0 for any q'∈Q with q ≠q'.

We study the twisted bosonization of massive Thirring model to relate to sine-Gordon model in Moyal spacetime using twisted commutation relations. We obtain the relevant twisted bosonization rules. We show that there exists dual relationship between twisted bosonic and fermionic operators. The strong–weak duality is also observed to be preserved as its commutative counterpart.

A simplified (but consistent) description of particle-production back-reaction effects in de Sitter spacetime is given.

We discuss the possibility of using experiments timing the propagation of neutrino beams over large distances to help determine the absolute masses of the three neutrinos.
