In this study, we consider the dynamics of the Babesiosis transmission on bovine populations and ticks. The most important role in the transmission of the parasite is the ticks from the Ixodidae family. The vector tick takes factors (merozoites in erythrocytes) from the diseased animal while sucking the blood. To model and investigate the transmissions of this parasite and address this important issue, we have considered the disease in a fractional epidemiological model. This paper, therefore, discusses the mechanisms of transmission of Babesiosis defined in the fractional derivative sense. The Caputo–Fabrizio (CF) derivative is considered to study the propagation mechanisms of Babesiosis. First, the important characteristics of the model have been presented, and then the transmission of the Babesiosis model defined in CF is discussed. The application of fixed-point theory is used to derive the concept of the qualitative properties of the mentioned model. The solution is obtained by using the Homotopy perturbation Elzaki transform method (HPETM). Numerical simulations are performed, and the effects of the arbitrary-order derivatives are investigated graphically.

Optical properties of semiconductor materials have been intensively studied for potential applications in perovskite solar cells. HfO₂ is recently substituting the conventional semiconductor materials due to excellent photovoltaic characteristics. The electronic and optical properties of Ti- and Zr-incorporated HfO₂ were investigated in this work using density functional theory. Ab-initio calculations were performed using Perdew–Burke–Ernzerhof (PBE) generalized gradient approximation (GGA). Electronic properties were studied by analyzing the band structure and density of states. Refractive index, attenuation coefficient, dielectric function, loss factor, energy loss spectra and absorption coefficient were calculated for the detailed study of optical response. A significant increase in absorption of HfO₂ in the visible region with the incorporation of Ti revealed its important practicability in photovoltaic devices.

In this paper, the (2+1)-dimensional resonant Davey–Stewartson equations are solved by using two methods; namely, $(m+\frac{1}{G^{\prime }})$-expansion and $(m+\frac{G^{\prime }}{G})$-expansion methods. A wave transform is used to convert the (2+1)-dimensional resonant Davey–Stewartson (RDS) equations with M-derivative into a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations. Different forms of solutions, such as dark, bright, singular and periodic singular solutions are successfully constructed. The obtained solutions are plotted in 3D for both M- derivative and classical derivative to more understand the effect of M-derivative on the studied equation.

The increase of urban traffic demands has directly affected some large cities that are now dealing with more serious urban rail transit congestion. In order to ensure the travel efficiency of passengers and improve the service level of urban rail transit, we proposed a multi-line collaborative passenger flow control model for urban rail transit networks. The model constructed here is based on passenger flow characteristics and congestion propagation rules. Considering the passenger demand constraints, as well as section transport and station capacity constraints, a linear programming model is established with the aim of minimizing total delayed time of passengers and minimizing control intensities at each station. The network constructed by Line 2, Line 6 and Line 8 of the Beijing metro is the study case used in this research to analyze control stations, control durations and control intensities. The results show that the number of delayed passengers is significantly reduced and the average flow control ratio is relatively balanced at each station, which indicates that the model can effectively relieve congestion and provide quantitative references for urban rail transit operators to come up with new and more effective passenger flow control measures.

In this paper, variable coefficients mKdV equation is examined by using Painlevé analysis and auto-Bäcklund transformation method. The proposed equation is an important equation in magnetized dusty plasmas. The Painlevé analysis is used to determine the integrability whereas an auto-Bäcklund transformation technique is being explored to derive unique family of analytical solutions for variable coefficients mKdV equation. New kink–antikink and periodic-kink- type soliton solutions have been determined successfully for the considered equation. This paper shows that auto-Bäcklund transformation method is effective, direct and easy to use, and used to determine the analytic soliton solutions of various nonlinear evolution equations in the field of science and engineering. The results are plotted graphically to signify the potency and applicability of this proposed scheme for solving the above considered equation. The obtained results are in the form of soliton-like solutions, solitary wave solutions, exponential and trigonometric function solutions. Therefore, these solutions help us to understand the potential and physical behaviors of the proposed equation.

3D image is a kind of image closer to life, and 3D image has a stronger visual impact. In the past, researchers mostly protected flat images, but ignored the protection of 3D images. This paper combines the 2D chaotic system and uses random cross diffusion to propose a new encryption algorithm for 3D images which are STL format. Different from the traditional scrambling and diffusion operations, this paper uses only one iterative operation to achieve the effects of scrambling and diffusion, making the algorithm more secure. In the encryption algorithm, each value of the ciphertext is XORed with the value of the plaintext on the same coordinate axis and different from the coordinate where the ciphertext is located, the chaotic sequence, the ciphertext of different coordinate axes significantly reduces the correlation between the adjacent coordinate values. In addition, the proposed 3D image encryption algorithm is tested by statistical analysis. The experimental results show that this 3D image encryption algorithm has high security.

As a new rapid additive manufacturing technology that has emerged in recent years, 3D printing technology can realize the precise manufacturing of complex and flexible sensor structures. In this study, a sensor was fabricated by injecting silver nanowires (AgNWs) ethanol solution into stretchable polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS). The substrate was used in two design configurations through a 3D printing template method, i.e. “straight” and “wave”. Compared to the straight sensor, the structural design of the wave sensor could increase the stretch range and sensitivity. In particular, the stretch range increased by 26.1% and the sensitivity improved by 96.0%. The stretchable sensor was successfully applied in pronunciation recognition and gait detection. Therefore, the stretchable sensor is also expected to be further used in fields such as foldable phones and wearable physiological signal sensors.

By employing the Modified Sardar Sub-Equation Method (MSEM), several solitons such as W-shape bright, dark solitons, trigonometric function solutions and singular function solutions have been obtained in two famous nonlinear evolution equations which are used to describe waves in quantum electron–positron–ion magnetoplasmas and weakly nonlinear ion-acoustic waves in a plasma. These models are the (3+1)-dimensional nonlinear extended quantum Zakharov–Kuznetsov (NLEQZK) equation and the (3+1)-dimensional nonlinear modified Zakharov–Kuznetsov (NLmZK) equation, respectively. Comparing the obtained results with Refs. 32–34 and Refs. 43–46, additional soliton-like solutions have been retrieved and will be useful in future to explain the interaction between lower nonlinear ion-acoustic waves and the parameters of the MSEM and the obtained figures will have more physical explanation.

Nonlinear evolution equations of arbitrary order bearing a significantly broad range of capability to illustrate the underlying behavior of naturalistic structures relating to the real world, have become a major source of attraction of scientists and scholars. In quantum mechanics, the nonlinear dynamical system is most reasonably modeled through the Schrödinger-type partial differential equations. In this paper, we discuss the (2+1)-dimensional time-fractional nonlinear Schrödinger equation and the (1+1)-dimensional space–time fractional nonlinear Schrödinger equation for appropriate solutions by means of the recommended enhanced rational $(G^{\prime }/G)$-expansion technique adopting Cole–Hopf transformation and Riccati equation. The considered equations are turned into ordinary differential equations by implementing a composite wave variable replacement alongside the conformable fractional derivative. Then a successful execution of the proposed method has been made, which brought out supplementary innovative outcomes of the considered equations compared with the existing results found so far. The well-generated solutions are presented graphically in 3D views for numerous wave structures. The high performance of the employed technique shows the acceptability which might provide a new guideline for research hereafter.

ZnWO₄ is easy to color, which will reduce the luminous efficiency of the crystal and limit the application of the crystal. In order to study the origin of the color in the crystal, in this paper, the effects of the oxygen vacancy on the optical properties for the ZnWO₄ crystal have been studied based on the density functional theory (DFT). The hybrid functional method (HSE) and the finite-size correction scheme (FNV) are used to correct the band edge problem and eliminate the artificial interaction of the charged defects, respectively. On the basis of the corrected defect formation energy, we obtain the optical spectra of the $F$ and $F^{+}$ centers containing electron-phonon coupling. The calculated absorption and luminescence peaks are at 2.54 eV and 0.79 eV for the $F$ center and at 2.98 eV and 1.09 eV for the $F^{+}$ center, respectively. The calculated absorption band of the $F$ center is close to the experimental value of 2.48 eV (500 nm), so we speculate that the coloring of the ZnWO₄ crystal is related to the $F$ center. Meanwhile, the existence of oxygen vacancy makes ZnWO₄ crystal to have self-absorption and to increase decay time, which greatly affects the scintillation properties of the crystal.

This paper presents the (1+1)-dimensional chiral nonlinear Schrödinger equation (1DCNLSE) and (2+1)-dimensional chiral nonlinear Schrödinger equation (2DCNLSE) that define the edge states of the fractional quantum hall effect. In this paper, we implement the Riccati–Bernoulli sub-ODE method in reporting the solutions of these two nonlinear physical models. As a result of this, some singular periodic waves, dark and singular optical soliton solutions are generated for these models. Some of the acquired solutions are illustrated by three-dimensional (3D) and two-dimensional (2D) graphs utilizing suitable values of the parameters with the help of the MAPLE software to demonstrate the importance in the real-world of the presented equations.

A polarization filter based on simple structure photonic crystal fiber (PCF) coated with gold air holes is designed in this work. The full vector finite element method (FEM) is used to calculate the characteristic parameters of PCF. In the final numerical simulation results, the loss peak in the $y$ polarization direction is 2305.72 dB/cm and the $x$-polarized loss is as low as 75.86 dB/cm at 1.31 $\mu$m. For the fiber length of 1000 $\mu$m, the CT reaches 1936.83 dB and a wide bandwidth greater than 20 dB can provide above 800 nm. The content of this paper can provide a new idea for filter structure design.
