Vehicular honk behavior is not uncommon in real traffic. Meanwhile, with the advent of sensors and communication technology, the real-time traffic state can be readily available to drivers. With such information, drivers can estimate the future traffic status and take countermeasures in advance. In this study, we propose a new lattice hydrodynamic model by jointly considering the vehicular honk and driver’s predictive effect. In the linear stability analysis section, neutral stability curve of the model is given, and the modified Korteweg de Vries (mKdV) equation is obtained in nonlinear stability analysis. The kink–antikink soliton solution is obtained by solving the above mKdV equation, which can be used to describe the phase transition of the traffic flow near the critical point. Results show that the honk and the driver’s predictive effect contribute to the traffic flow stability.

Communication technology has achieved unprecedented development in recent years, and its applications in transportation systems and automobiles are also increasing. During driving, the driver obtains not only traffic information through observation but also more traffic information beyond the visual range through the Internet of Vehicles (IoV). Therefore, to better describe the evolution law of traffic flow in the IoV environment and to provide some theoretical and strategic support for the coming of the autonomous driving era in the future, an extended car-following model accounting for average optimal velocity difference and backward-looking effect based on IoV environment is proposed. The linear analysis and nonlinear analysis of the model are calculated separately, and the neutral stability curve and the coexistence curve together prove the validity of the model. Subsequently, the numerical simulation verified the accuracy of the theoretical analysis and also proved that the extended model can enhance the stability of traffic flow.

The Korteweg–de Vries (KdV) equation with higher-order nonlinearity is considered as the model of the wave propagation in one-dimensional nonlinear lattice. In this paper, we obtain the exact solutions to the KdV equation with higher-order nonlinearity. The complete discrimination system for polynomial method is applied to handle such a problem. All the possible exact traveling wave solutions are obtained.

In this paper, we computed quantum friction of two parallel metal plates separated by a small distance moving with constant relative velocity $v=\left|v\right|$. The plasmons as the internal degrees of freedom living on the two plates are coupled to a vacuum field in the gap between the two plates. We got the in–out quantum action which contained all the dynamical information of the system. Furthermore, we associated the imaginary part of the in–out quantum action with dissipation and frictional force. For the case of dispersionless plasmons, the imaginary part of the in–out quantum action is strongly suppressed as $v\to 0$. The frictional force exhibits the same feature as $v\to 0$. The difference is that the frictional force increases as $v<0.015$ and decreases as $v>0.015$. For the case of dispersive plasmons, there is a threshold for the imaginary part of the in–out quantum action and the frictional force, that is, there is no dissipation when the relative velocity $v$ is not big enough. We gave a classical argument of the existence of the threshold, and this argument matched the mathematical results.

In this paper, new trial functions are constructed via extended “3-3-2-3-1” and “3-3-2-3-2-1” network models based on the bilinear neural networks method. The new lump-type solution, interaction solution, plentiful arbitrary function solutions and periodic lump solutions of the dimensionally reduced $p$-generalized Burgers–Kadomtsev–Petviashvili equation are solved. To analyze the dynamic properties of the solutions, appropriate parameters and different activated functions are defined in arbitrary function solutions. Through the three-dimensional and density plots, the dynamical characteristics of the solutions are shown well.

Future quantum communication networks envisaged on a global scale will include various networks interlinked via optical fiber and free space channels. In recent years, quantum key distribution (QKD) protocol based on optical fiber has been extensively studied. Twin-field QKD (TF-QKD) may enable 550 km QKD using standard optical fiber without quantum repeaters. However, the performance of TF-QKD in free-space channel is still unclear. In this paper, a free-space channel model is proposed with specific turbulence characterization discussed. Here, the key rate of TF-QKD under multiple scenarios considering the variation of turbulence and different link configuration is investigated. Simulation results demonstrate that the performance of free-space TF-QKD is related to link configuration and turbulence motion which is determined by surface feature, time and height. Furthermore, TF-QKD protocol is a potential scheme for the free-space quantum communication.

In this work, the values of critical coupling strengths of the Ising lattices which are changing their lattice structure (or non-self-dual) under decimation transformations, such as the honeycomb, the triangular and the body centered cubic Ising lattices, are obtained by a modified real space renormalization group approach (RSRG). This modification is necessary to obtain a proper relation between the coupling strengths of the original and the decimated lattices. Indeed, we have achieved to obtain a proper renormalized coupling strength relation for honeycomb and triangular lattices readily, since the decimation transformation of the honeycomb lattice produces the triangular lattice or vice versa. Here, the problem of having physically untractable interactions between degrees of freedom in the renormalized Hamiltonian, which leads eventually to inevitable approximations in the treatment, except for the 1D Ising chain, has been solved with a proper approximation. Especially for the 3D Ising lattices, the physically untractable interactions appearing in the renormalized Hamiltonian make the mathematical treatment too cumbersome. As a result, there is not enough research dealing with the 3D Ising lattices using RG theory. Our approximation is based on using the simple relation $ln[1+f(\kappa )]\simeq f(\kappa )$, which is, of course, a very relevant first-order approximation, if $f(\kappa )\ll 1$. With the help of this approximation, decimation transformation process produces only pairwise interactions in the renormalized Hamiltonian instead of having four spins, six spins, or even eight spin interactions which appear naturally if all the terms are kept in the renormalized Hamiltonians of the Ising lattices in 2D and higher dimensions. Without this approximation, one cannot apply analytic RG treatment feasibly to even simple cubic lattice, let alone applying it to the body centered cubic lattice. Using this modified RG approach, the values of critical coupling strengths of the honeycomb, the triangular and the body centered cubic Ising lattices are obtained analytically as 0.6470, 0.2754 and 0.1589, respectively. Apparently, these estimations are really close to the results obtained from cumbersome exact treatments which are 0.6585, 0.2747 and 0.1575 for the honeycomb, the triangular and the body centered cubic lattices.

Over the past few decades, the study of epidemic propagation has caught widespread attention from many areas. The field of graphs contains a wide body of research, yet only a few studies explore epidemic propagation’s dynamics in “signed” networks. Motivated by this problem, in this paper we propose a new epidemic propagation model for signed networks, denoted as S-SIS. To explain our analysis, we utilized the mean field theory to demonstrate the theoretical results. When we compare epidemic propagation through negative links to those only having positive links, we find that a higher proportion of infected nodes actually spreads at a relatively small infection rate. It is also found that when the infection rate is higher than a certain value, the overall spreading in a signed network begins showing signs of suppression. Finally, in order to verify our findings, we apply the S-SIS model on Erdös–Rényi random network and scale-free network, and the simulation results is well consist with the theoretical analysis.

Lithium niobate is a crystal with excellent electric-optic and nonlinear optical properties. Double-doped and multi-doped lithium niobate are widely used in a wide variety of optical devices. A series of Zn:Ru:Fe:LiNbO₃ crystals with different lithium-niobium molar ([Li]/[Nb]) ratios were grown by the Czochralski method. The structures of the crystals with different [Li]/[Nb] ratios are analyzed using X-ray diffraction patterns and infrared spectra. The effect of the [Li]/[Nb] ratio dependence of the doped element concentration and segregation coefficient was studied using an inductive coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometer (ICP-AES). It was found that the doping elements do not change the crystal structure, and the change of the [Li]/[Nb] ratio will affect the concentration and the occupancy of the doped ions in the crystal. The segregation coefficient and defect structures can be controlled by different [Li]/[Nb] ratios in Zn:Ru:Fe:LiNbO₃ crystal.

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of silver nanoparticles (Ag⁰-NPs) and silver oxide (Ag₂O) as antibacterial agents against E. coli bacteria in PLA/PBS-D matrix. In addition, 10% of diatomite (D) was added to be the absorbent for Ag⁰-NPs. Synthesis of composites PLA/PBS-10D-Ag⁰NPs-1% and PLA/PBS-10D-Ag₂O-1%-GPTS-3% was carried out where 3-glycidyloxypropyl-trimethoxysilane (GPTS) was used as the compatibilizer. The resulting composites were analyzed by IR, XRD, hardness, impact, tensile strength, and thermal properties. The antibacterial agent was obtained from Ag⁰-NPs, which impregnated into diatomite pores to form silver nanoparticle-diatomite (Ag⁰-NPsD). The XRD diffractograms showed peaks at 2$𝜃$ 16.64${}^{\circ }$, 33.01${}^{\circ }$, 38.1${}^{\circ }$, and 44.38${}^{\circ }$ for PLA-PBS, Ag₂O, and Ag⁰-NPs. Adding 10 phr of Ag⁰-NPsD, D and 3%-GPTS to the PLA-PBS system increased the hardness to 84.67 and 86.33, respectively. The impact strength of the composites increased significantly after the addition of 3% GPTS. The addition of Ag⁰-NPsD and 3%GPTS increased thermal properties of the composites. The antibacterial test results showed that the composite PLA/PBS-10D-Ag₂O-1%-GPTS-3% was not effective as an antibacterial agent. In contrast, PLA/PBS-10D-Ag⁰ NPs-1% showed the ability to inhibit the E. Coli bacterial growth up to 99%. In the PLA/PBS-D system, Ag⁰-NPs are more effective for inhibiting the E. Coli bacterial growth than Ag₂O.

In this paper, two efficient proposals are presented by using maximal slice states and orthogonal measurement basis to realize the joint remote state preparation (RSP) of two-qubit and three-qubit states, respectively. Furthermore, this kind of joint RSP schemes could be generalized to the case of arbitrary multi-qubit states, which can be transmitted from two senders to one receiver with the supervision of one manager. The successful probability of this joint RSP scheme is always equal to 100% in spite of that quantum channel is composed of non-maximally entangled states.

A resonator composed of two coupled doubly-clamped beams is fabricated and used as a mass sensor. Five mass blocks made of IP-L780 photoresist are printed on each resonator beam by 3D microprinting technology as mass loading. The minimum mass which the sensor can detect is as low as 10 ng. The experimental results show that the asymmetric resonant mode of this resonator has a higher Q factor than the symmetric mode when doing mass detection. The responsivity of the coupled resonator for the mass sensing reaches 58.5 Hz/ng.
