Michael Chew is a professor and Head of the Department of the Built Environment at the College of Design and Engineering, National University of Singapore. He has authored more than 200 publications and is the author of 4 textbooks recommended as texts in many overseas and local institutions. His R&D on construction and building material testing and product development has resulted in six patents awarded in the US and Singapore, and he has seen his products licensed and commercialised, with his R&D brought from the laboratory to on-site applications including airports, buildings and infrastructures both local and overseas.
