GUNTHER S. STENT
Gunther S. Stent (b. 1924 in Berlin, Germany) is Professor Emeritus of Neurobiology at the University of California at Berkeley. He arrived in Chicago in 1940 as a refugee from Nazi Germany. He received a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1948. He then studied as a postdoctoral research fellow of the U.S. National Research Council at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), the University of Copenhagen, and at the Pasteur Institute in Paris.
