Abstract:

The pelvis is the part of the trunk below and behind the abdomen. It is directly continuous with the abdominal cavity but for topographic purposes, it is often divided into greater and lesser pelves by an oblique line passing through the sacral promontory, arcuate line of the ilium, pectineal line of the pubis and upper margin of the pubic symphysis.
