    Abstract:

The 2016 Russian–American relations sustained the 2015 developmental trends of full-scale confrontation and sank to an all-time low. Since the end of the United States (U.S.) presidential election in November, Russian–American relations have been faced with new opportunities. In view of the positions Donald Trump stated before and after his presidential campaign, Russian–American relations are likely to be reset once again. Nevertheless, due to the restrictions by multiple factors, the reset is most likely to be ephemeral and limited.
