    Abstract:

In a machine tool, thermal errors are a major part of quasistatic errors, comprising 70% of the total error. This paper proposes a strategy to build an error map of a machine tool by considering the optimization of temperature measuring point with thermal effects. A mathematics model is used to predict the thermal errors. The prediction model of layout optimization of machine tool spindle can be estimated well along the X, Y, Z three directions of thermal deformation.
