    Abstract:

Melamine formaldehyde (MF) fiber was a kind of excellent flame retardant fibers which has a wide application prospect in the flame retardant fabric, thermal insulation and high temperature filter materials and other fields and so on. In this paper, we studied the compositions of Melamine formaldehyde (MF) - Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) blend solution in Dimethylformamide (DMF) dissolvent as well as its effect of electrospinning of MF-PAN-DMF blend fiber. The MF-PAN electrospun fiber membrane were also prepared, furthermore, the analysis and characterization of fibers were discussed as well. The results showed that: The Limit Oxygen Index (LOI) of MF-PAN polymer blends could be up to 27%; Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) analysis showed that MF-PAN-DMF electro-spinning fibers has well continuity, uniformity and surface smoothness. In other words, adding the MF resin in PAN-DMF solution could achieved good effect of electrospinning; Infrared spectrum (IR) analysis obviously showed that, good adsorption of infrared light has appeared from two component blend fibers; Meanwhile, compare with original PAN fibers, lateral ordered degree of MF-PAN blend fibers has declined after blended showed in the X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern.
