    Abstract:

An experimental investigation on the refrigeration process of a pressure wave refrigerator was conducted in order to determine the relevant factors affecting on the temperature distribution of the receiving tube. In the investigation, receiving tubes are divided into the long tubes and short tubes, while the relevant factors including expansion ratio ε, tube length l, pulsing frequency f and shock absorption factor, etc. The experimental results demonstrate there is obvious difference between the temperature distribution of the short and long tubes. But both of them would increase when turn up the expansion ratio and pulsing frequency. Adding the shock wave absorber would decrease the steady temperature of the receiving tube at least 100°C.
