Chapter 8: Propagation of Social Responsibility and Sustainability as an Entrepreneurial Discipline

    Abstract:

    The objective of this chapter is to study whether fixing social responsibility on entrepreneurs will benefit the society and ensure sustainability of his/her business and resources of the society. Analysis of recent key studies and available statistics is made. This chapter is based on exploratory research made through use of empirical studies, analysis of relevant key reports and available statistics. The cases where corporate social responsibility (CSR) and corporate governance may be misused threatening the interests of the public at large are included. The gap between business houses, society and essential practice of reporting for filling such gaps is also discussed.
