ANALYTIC, NON-PERTURBATIVE, ALMOST-EXACT QED: THE TWO-POINT FUNCTION
The goal, of course, is QCD; but one must learn how to walk before one can run. This analysis is in four dimensions, using the Minkowski metric and a modified Fradkin representation of a modified Schwinger functional solution for QED. And this is a work-in-progress presentation of techniques and results discovered within the last year, which so far have treated the sum of all Feynman graphs for the dressed electron and photon propagators in quenched approximation. The initial feature which makes such calculations possible is the use of a special, relativistic, photon gauge, which provides a framework for the scaling transformations of the gauge-dependent electron propagator, and the application of strict current conservation for the photon propagator. In this (rapid) presentation, electron mass-renormalization will be suppressed, although its wave-function renormalization will be clear…
